Well, here we are — after years and years of lurking around the blogosphere (nerd alert!), I have finally decided to join in on all the fun.

Greener Bean is my little place on the web where I will explore fun ways to lead a more healthy lifestyle through food, fitness and the environment.
Although I have always been passionate about healthy eating (and not-so-healthy eating, cupcakes anyone?), I am excited to have a place to share recipes and experiment with some fun and delicious eats. Also, living in NYC and working full time, I find myself eating out quite a few nights a week — so get ready for lots of restaurant reviews!
When it comes to fitness, I am an aspiring yogini and try to make it to the studio at least 3-4 times per week. Although the zen life is what makes me the most happy — sometimes the body is in need of some good old-fashioned cardio. Lately I have been toying with the idea of getting my run on and signing up for a race or two, with the very far away dream of running the NYC Marathon one day. I am hoping that blogging gives me the motivation to make this dream a reality.
Lastly, I have to admit, I know very little about being environmentally friendly. Sure, I recycle when it’s convenient and bring cloth bags to the grocery when I remember; but I have leaps and bounds of knowledge to acquire in this area. Let’s learn together.
Enough introduction, time to dive right in! Tomorrow is Easter and the family is gathering at my parent’s house for the big dinner. I am excited to take a stab at recreating a memorable meal I had at Peacefood a few weeks ago. Wish me luck!
