Burnt Out

Happy Sunny Saturday!

Today I let myself sleep in a little and let me tell you — it felt amazing. 

I began my day with lots o’ fiber: a big bowl of Kashi Go Lean cereal swimming in unsweetened vanilla almond milk, a few glasses of water and some watermelon chunks for a dessert of sorts:

OH YES that is more than one (two?) serving and OH YES I did eat every bit of that cereal.

This week left me feeling a bit burnt out. It flew by and the perfectionist that I am — I am feeling a bit disappointed in myself.

Although I kept my meals really healthy this week, my apartment is a mess, I only made it to yoga twice, I didn’t get ANY running in, most mornings breakfast was a Larabar + coffee and lunches I purchased on the go.

Lately I’m finding it really hard to keep up with: working 8 hours a day (some days longer), living in a city, trying to find time to exercise,  cook, see friends, read for book club… the list goes on and on. I can’t even imagine the idea of adding kids or a family to the mix one day — I can barely keep up with myself!

Luckily I have a lot of down time this weekend to get my life together. Today I plan on tackling the clothing situation in my room (picture clothes EVERYWHERE) and later on tonight I will be heading out for some fun and drinks. Girl’s gotta unwind!

But first — off to break in those new running shoes, soak up the gorgeous sun and hopefully get some color 🙂 Have a great Saturday!
